Op. 26a, dört kontrabas için yazılmış Requiem’in (Op. 26) yaylılar orkestrası için yeniden uyarlanmış hâlidir. Biçim ve melodik-ritmik iskelet aynı kalır; değişen şey renktir.
Dört kontrabasın koyu, toprağa yakın tınısı, yaylı orkestranın daha geniş spektrumuna yayılır. Üst yaylılar gölgeyi incelterek açar; alt partiler orijinal ağırlığı taşımaya devam eder. Aynı yas, başka bir ışık altında duyulur: daha ferah, daha katmanlı, ama hâlâ ağıtsal.
Bu uyarlama bir genişletme değil, bir renklendirme olarak düşünülmüştür. Op. 26’nın özü korunur; yalnızca sesin rengi değişir.
Op. 26a is a reworking for string orchestra of the Requiem written for four double basses (Op. 26). The form and the melodic-rhythmic skeleton remain the same; what changes is the colour.
The dark, ground-close timbre of four double basses is spread across the wider spectrum of the string orchestra. The upper strings thin and open the shadow; the lower parts continue to carry the original weight. The same mourning is heard under another light: more spacious, more layered, yet still elegiac.
This arrangement is conceived not as an expansion, but as a recolouring. The essence of Op. 26 is preserved; only the colour of the sound changes.
