Karma koro için Sözsüz Şarkı, insan sesini sözel ve anlamsal bir metnin sınırlarından özgürleştirerek saf bir akustik enstrümana dönüştürür. Kesintisiz akan tınısal bir süreç olarak biçimlenen eser; müteli bir açılış, kademeli olarak genişleyen bir vokal gövde ve sönümlenen bir kapanışla kurulur.
Açılış son derece içe dönük ve karanlıktır. Ses henüz kelimelere veya açık vokal renklere bölünmez; korodaki tüm ses gruplarının kapalı ağız mırıldanmasıyla (“mm…”) ürettiği gölgeli, koyu bir humming katmanı tınısal eşiği kurar. Bu durağan ve mistik atmosferin içinden solo sopranonun çizgisi süzülerek yükselir; koro dokusu giderek çözülür ve fonetik renkler açılmaya başlar.
Kapalı tınılar yerini “aa…”, “uu”, “iiy” ve “ya” gibi açık ünlü seslere bıraktıkça müziğin rezonansı ve iç gerilimi tırmanır. Katmanların üst üste bindiği, vokal renklerin ışık–gölge oyunlarıyla sıklaştığı bu akış, yerini durgunlaşan bir geri çekilmeye bırakır.
Kapanışta müzik, yeniden ilk baştaki müteli ve kapalı ağız mırıldanmalarına dönerek yankılarını yavaşça siler. Eser, başladığı derin ve yaslı sessizlikle söner — fakat duyulan tınısal yolculuktan sonra artık geride kalan aynı sessizlik değildir.
Wordless Song for mixed choir frees the human voice from the limits of a verbal and semantic text and turns it into a pure acoustic instrument. Shaped as an uninterrupted timbral process, the work is built from a muted opening, a gradually expanding vocal body and a fading close.
The opening is deeply inward and dark. The sound is not yet divided into words or open vocal colours; a shadowy, dense humming layer produced by the closed-mouth murmur (“mm…”) of all the voice groups in the choir establishes the timbral threshold. From within this still, mystical atmosphere the line of the solo soprano rises; the choral texture gradually dissolves and phonetic colours begin to open.
As the closed timbres give way to open vowels such as “aa…”, “uu”, “iiy” and “ya”, the resonance and inner tension of the music climb. This flow, in which layers superimpose and vocal colours densify in plays of light and shadow, then yields to a quieting withdrawal.
In the close the music returns to the muted, closed-mouth murmurs of the beginning and slowly erases its echoes. The work fades in the deep, mournful silence with which it began — yet after the timbral journey that has been heard, what remains is no longer the same silence.
